Safety Courses |
Certificates as per STCW 1995
(i) Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.
(ii) Survival at Sea.
(iii) Fire Fighting and
(iv) First Aid.

Minimum Secondary School Certificate/Equivalent.

3-year diploma from a Polytechnic Institution
of the country or abroad in the following:
(i) Auto/Diesel Technology; OR
(ii) Mechanical/Power Technology; OR

3-years Trade Apprenticeship as DIESEL
MECHANIC/FITTER under the Apprenticeship Ordinance
of 1962 in a DG (P&S) authorized Marine Workshop. OR |
|
Ex-Naval Dockyard apprentices having
completed 4-years industrial training in Mechanical/Diesel
trade under the Naval Dockyard training Scheme.

6-months service/on the job Training
in a DG (P&S) authorized Marine Workshop for operation and maintenance
of Diesel Engines and Welding, OR |
|
3-months prescribed course in the field of Marine Diesel Engine and Welding.
|

of each along with application addressed to Principal
Officer, Mercantile Marine Department Karachi
shall be submitted by the Candidate. |

Technical and Educational Certificates will be sent to issuing authority for verification of genuineness. The candidate is required to submit a pay order to cover verification fee charges by the concerned Educational/Technical Board.

Oral Examination conducted by the Examiners
in first week of every month. |

Prescribed fee Rs.1200/- for examination and issuance of suitability certificate shall be payable by the candidate.
