EXAMINATION PROCEDURE:
Oral examination accept
category No. 2 are conducted by Mercantile Marine Department
for issuance of Certificate of Competency to the following
categories under Induction Rules for Technical Personnel of
Merchant Marine - 1998: -
- ELECTRICIAN
- ELECTRICIAL ENGINEER (Written examination)
- DIESEL MECHANIC / FITTER
- 1ST CLASS / 2ND CLASS ENGINE DRIVERS / MASTERS (Inland)
Eligibility requirement are given in the Induction Rules.
After verification of Technical / Academic
documents/ Certificates the examination of above categories
conducted on first Monday of every month.
Oral examination are conducted
for issuance of Certificate of Competency under I.M.P.V. Act
of 1917 to the following categories: -
- 1st / 2nd Class Engine Driver & Motor Permit (Inland)
- 1st / 2nd Class Master and Serang (Inland).
- Inland Engineer and License Engineer.
The candidates for Certificate of Competency
(Inland) should submit sea service on prescribed form No.
C-19 along with declaration form No. C-19a. The eligibility
is checked as per Rules for the examination and grant of Certificate
of Competency to Masters Serangs. Engine Drivers, Inland Engineers
and Motor Permit etc. of Inland vessels.
For the examination of Engine Drivers, Inland
Engineer and Motor Permit is scheduled on 1st Wednesday of
every month and examination of Mater and Serang is scheduled
on 2nd Monday of every month.
ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE OF RATING FORMING PART OF A VAVIGATIONAL WATCH AND ENGINE ROOM WATCH IN COMPLIANCE WITH STCW-78 CONVENTION AS AMENDED IN 1995.
Documents required as per amended Circular 42-A for Deck
Rating and Circular No. 47/2000 for Engine Rating after submission
of documents Oral examination for issuance of Certificate
as Rating Forming Part of Navigational Watch and Engine Room
Watch in compliance with STCW-78 Convention as amend in 1995
is conducted.
Examination is scheduled to every Tuesday and Thursday.
