Mercantile Marine Department Circular No. 02/2007.

On the recommendation of the committee formed for the revision of the Induction Rules for Technical Personal of Merchant Marine 1998, it has been decided to make the following amendments in the above mentioned induction rules.

i) Age limit as specified in subsection 3.1 revised to 18-40 years.

ii) Nomenclature of safety courses, as mentioned in subsection 3.4, revised as stated below.
           a. Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.
           b. Proficiency in Survival Techniques.
           c. Basic Fire Fighting.
           d. Elementary First Aid.

The Induction rules have been revised accordingly.
